This will be the third school year where my students’ academic and social experiences will be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. My goal is to create a safe space in my classroom to help my students cope with their emotions by providing flexible seating options and sensory toys for whenever they need a break or are feeling overwhelmed. I have several students with a variety of attention disorders and this will be the first time in over a year and a half that they will be learning in person for a full school day. The flexible seating options and sensory fidgets will help my students work comfortably and help improve student attention. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
