Students will use these books both in school and at home for independent reading to learn about young adults in other parts of the country and world. Through empathy, students will create projects that highlight how they compare and contrast with their counterparts in different regions and countries. To supplement their knowledge of other places and cultures, students will perform self-directed digital research to learn even more about the daily life of the characters they meet through books. Even though this pandemic is a type of being sequestered, we can use it to unite us in respecting our differences.
