Starting Kindergarten is such an exciting time for students! This year my class will start their year at home. I will miss seeing the excitement my students have when they see their names at their table for the first time. I want them to have their own materials and storage to help them create their own learning space at home. Our online lessons will be more efficient if my students have their materials in their own storage box and ready to use each day.
We use whiteboards every day for reading and math and they will give my students opportunities to develop fine motor skills. My students will benefit from having their own set of magnetic letters to help them learn letters and sounds. Unifix cubes will be used to develop number sense as I introduce counting and making sets up to ten. Students usually share these materials in class, but will not be able to do that this year.
I also want to prepare my classroom for social distancing when students return to the school building. Each student needs their own storage to keep materials safe and easily accessible.
