The books will supplement lessons. The goal is to offer multiple viewpoints throughout history, whether it is the author telling the story or the character in the story. It is important for students to read about events in history from diverse viewpoints. Understanding other points of view are necessary to grow as communities and the world. Whether students are reading on their own, in groups, or as a whole class these books will allow students to read different perspectives to broaden their views beyond their community. A library with diversity will help support the growth of students.
