The Lego set will be used to help students identify common community members and the roles ad responsibilities of these members as well as engage in meaningful discussions about and make concrete connections between these toy members and real-life members in their own families or communities. Writing resources help students share responses during group activities and provide a reusable means to practice writing letters and numbers. Sensory tools such as fidgets help students maintain a calm body and focus on tasks that require sitting. Light cozies help minimize the bright, unnatural lighting found in a traditional classroom.
