The materials and resources will be used for digital learning in our ESOL class. The students are in Kindergarten to 5th grade and most of them are beginning English learners. The ESOL classroom doesn't have a classroom library. I aim to to start a language-rich classroom where students can have choices in choosing books they want to read. They have already shown excitement in reading books and this project will help them boost their progress in learning English.
The books, digital resource, and visual materials (mostly through TPT) will help these students connect their native language to English to better equip them in their everyday lives. Majority of these kids come from struggling families where family members are bilingual and have challenges with the English language as well. Since students will be learning virtually, the resource materials will provide the needed help of family members as well. This project will bridge some gaps that these children experience from lack of English language exposure.
