I strive to teach my students to be independent learners. Headphones make a huge difference during independent learning time becuase it helps the students focus on his/her work more independently. They provide a quiet environment, clearer heard instructions (if working in an online program), a buffer from distractions. It provides an opportunity for me to also work with individual students to improve specifically their literacy skills during this independent work time. If I can provide time for them to learn to work independently it provides more time for me to help them work individually!

About my class
