Due to COVID-19, we can't visit the school library. Many families are avoiding public places, including the public library. Most of my students don't have devices to access eBooks. I am trying to build a well stocked library that will be interesting to all of my students. Some love sports, some love graphic novels, some are girly girls, some despise pink. But all of them want to read. Our goal this year is to read 30 books each. Several of my students didn't read more than 3 books last year. Every book a student finishes is cause for a celebration! With these books, we will do book reports, journals, book commercials, scrapbooks, podcasts, comic strips and so much more! We will learn genres and write poetry. We will practice summaries, main ideas, timelines, making inferences, and quoting from the text.
