Help me give my students a safe sensory area to enjoy all of their calming fidgets. My classroom is composed of 10 young amazing and caring children who have been diagnosed with a variety of Intellectual and emotional disabilities. These disabilities range from Down Syndrome to Autism and other health impairments. As you may know having a classrom where students do not have an area to calm down and get their sensory needs met can be very challenging. However, these young children try their hardest to make it through. They deserve the opportunities your donations would offer them. A calming sensory area in my classroom will provide a variety of opportunities for my students. It will: -help create a safe environment - Provide opportunities for engagement in prevention and crisis de-escalation strategies - teach skills - offer a variety of therapeutic activities - promote self care A sensory area would be an amazing way for my students to have fun and feel safe. These items will help make learning fun, and most importantly feel safe.
