Manipulatives are a powerful tool for supporting student learning, especially in Math. During this time of distance learning, it will be essential to use math manipulatives and other learning tools to give my young students hands-on experiences that help make abstract ideas concrete. While distance learning, I hope to encourage engagement, build confidence and give my kindergarten learners a break from the screen during the day. I plan to make a learning kit for each student to use at home while guiding students' use of these learning tools. I love math and I hope they do too!
