My students are diverse and need to see that reflected through the books we read in class. Over the years I have found that the majority of my picture books do not represent the students I teach. I want my students to be able to read books and say she looks like me, I can do that, or I have done that before. My project contains books that will allow all of my students to be connect with and see a reflection of themselves through our read alouds. I also want to be able to keep my students current on the things going on around them and Time Magazine is a great resource for that.
