All of these texts will be used in small group literature circles throughout Spring semester. At school or at home (Covid-dependent), students will experience the intimacy of a book club experience with classmates (and me, as the overall facilitator). This new course is designed for a wide variety of readers: low-level struggling to "get into" literature and books, medium-level (will do the book and get hooked occasionally) and high-level (read all the time, both assigned and for pleasure). I love what graphic novels can do: level the proverbial playing field for all of my students and invite diverse groups of students to enjoy stories, both fiction and non-fiction, together. Funding my very first "The Human Experience Through Graphic Novels" course will be donations very well spent.
