How many of us remember reading a book that gave us an idea that changed our lives? This could be inspiring a new habit or even a new career. These books focus on careers in the STEM field. In small groups, students will be introduced to careers that may not have otherwise thought existed. By introducing STEM careers through books at a young age, many students can be inspired to become scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. The students I work with may not have role models in their lives to consider STEM careers. These books can serve as a starting point for this consideration. In an ever increasingly technological world, STEM careers are desperately needed. Companies can continue to innovate to improve each of our lives. Thus, introducing students at a young age to STEM careers can greatly impact society for years to come.
