The students in my classroom come from lower-income areas and for them to be successful in class they need to not worry about the basic need of being fed. Providing snacks for the students will help them focus on academics and not hunger. Many of my students have behavioral needs and need help staying on task and finding the motivation to work. Having prizes such as candy or little toys gives the students something exciting to work for and helps keep them motivated throughout the day. My students also have many sensory needs and having fidgets to help keep their focus and a bean bag to sit in a quiet area when they are overstimulated will also help them greatly with their learning and being successful at school. Other items will help with the classroom setting. Having a visual timer will help keep students on track along with having a hanging schedule of the day. Having a place to put their papers and a shoe rack that will be the place for each student to put their own headphones will keep the classroom organized. All of the items will help the students be successful and will make school a safe and enjoyable place to go.
