Because of new safety measures due to COVID-19, I will need to provide my students with individual supplies for both play and academic centers. My grade level recognizes play as an active component of whole-child learning and development. We provide time in the morning for students to use sensory bins and other play activities. Due to new safety measures, we are unable to allow students to share materials and therefore need to have more on hand in the classroom to allow all students the opportunity to develop important developmental and fine motor skills through play. The play-doh, building blocks, and linking disks will also be useful during STEM lessons. Funding this project will allow me to provide my students with multiple options for individual play centers that can be sanitized easily as well as extra manipulates for STEM lessons.
