A culturally relevant classroom library allows students to feel seen, heard, and represented. This is especially important for students of color because most children's books and popular children's books feature white children and white stories. These books will help to create a well-rounded classroom library to help spark and guide discussions about our world's past, present, and future. The students of California and specifically Santa Maria are diverse students with various backgrounds that deserve to be discussed and valued. These texts will hopefully open the door to the incredible world of inclusion.
