By giving my students books of their own, they will have some kind of buy in to our classroom. My plan is to ship these to my students who will be starting the 2020-21 class year online with a personal note. These students won't be sitting at desks, walking the halls, receiving notebooks and textbooks, and certainly not borrowing books from classrooms. This opportunity will provide them with books that belong to them. They will own these copies, which is even better than just receiving one from school to borrow for a temporary period time. This will allow them to "own" their learning, their experience, their school year.
