With the addition of a few more devices to our 1st grade classroom, I'd be able to pair students up for whole class instruction to better meet the 21st Century standards, enabling better instruction for the safe use of technology, and allowing students to work cooperatively to create digital stories and presentations while I'm available to circulate and facilitate learning. Currently, my classroom has only 8 iPads for 20-21 students. This limits the use of those devices for independent drill and practice as there aren't enough devices to go around for larger group instruction. Meaning, students only get to use the devices for independent practice while I work with other small groups of students on other subjects, preventing me from having the ability to instruct these learners to use the devices for much more creative publishing and learning!
