Given the recent events in response to race relations in the country, I find that it is important for my students to learn in a culturally responsive learning environment and provide opportunities to learn about the history of the United States from a different perspective. The use of this book will be incorporated into our curriculum for our Virginia & U.S. History classes. Educators will create engaging lessons, facilitate discussions, and provide strategies by using the book as a resource for culturally responsive and abolitionist teaching. Students will study history as it pertains to the Virginia Standards of Learning in conjunction with Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You. This resource will enhance their learning experiences by providing opportunities to exercise their historical learning skills while identifying ways to create a better future. Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You is a wonderful narrative that discusses more than race, but the series of events that have contributed to the events occurring in the here and now. This book will encourage students to identify and "stamp out" racist ideas and thoughts thus leading to a brighter future.
