Flexible seating is something that has been researched and has been found to be very effective in today's classrooms. Flexible seating provides students with choice, comfort, collaboration, sensory input, and helps make learning more fun. With these seating options, students will be empowered to make the choice to choose where they would like to sit, what they sit on, and allows them to position themselves to be comfortable. Sitting in a desk on a chair can quickly become uncomfortable and does not allow for movement. These seating options will allow students to move and wiggle as needed while learning and not being a distraction to others. The seating options I have listed also provide the students with sensory input. The sensory input helps students to focus and process information.
