Since our learning adventure will start at home this year, my students will need a break from screen time. Although we will see each other through the computer, we can still interact with each other. I will be making an at-home learning kit for each student so they will be able to play math games using dice, counters, other manipulatives, as well as hands-on activities for learning the ABC's and making words. These supplies will enhance their distance learning by providing opportunities that are familiar to them and that resemble school activities. The additional supplies will help me purchase digital versions of games and activities to keep our learning interactive. I will be able to guide the students when we are in our virtual classroom. These manipulatives will provide concrete practice that is lacking by only relying on technology.
