Teaching hybrid this year has been challenging but doable. The materials requested in this project will make things more accessible and manageable for both my students and myself. The document camera will allow both my face-to-face students as well as my virtual students to see the text used during Guided Reading instruction in present time. I will be able to model reading strategies as they are meant versus demonstrating on the wipe board for face-to-face students and on a word document for my virtual students. Sturdy book bags will permanently replace their plastic Ziplock bags where they store and stock up on plenty of reading material while they are away from me. My students understand that the only way to grow in their reading levels is through daily practice. Finally, the travel compartment bag will give me a few less gray hairs as it will help me manage and store all needed materials as I move from one classroom to another throughout the day.
