In this uncharted new venture of teaching and learning during a pandemic, safety and cleanliness are at the forefront of my plans for returning to the classroom. I want my students to feel safe, but also excited to enter our learning space and I think the bright colors and unique seating will spark excitement in my students while also creating a more comfortable atmosphere during this uncertain time for young learners. I believe these materials will allow for easy cleanup, disinfecting, and provide us the ability to social distance while using my small classroom's space most effectively. Lap desks and foam mats can easily be sanitized and stacked for simple storage within the classroom for better access to carpet cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the classroom after school. Each student will be able to have their own storage bucket for their personal manipulatives that can also easily be sanitized and the lid prevents the spills that are a regular occurrence in kindergarten classrooms!
