Storyworks’ stories are original, diverse, and engaging. Each text sparks curiosity and allows lessons to develop based on content and skillsets. Core ELA skills are included in each article or story, including domain-specific vocabulary and grammar. Using this resource will allow my gifted students the exposure to higher-level text from virtually every genre. I prefer to use resources like this to teach core ELA skills, as students are very vested in the content and are eager to actively participate in lessons. I have used Storyworks magazine for several years, and I know firsthand how much students love it. Unfortunately, due to all school money going to PPE for staff, extra resources are not feasible this year. I am hoping my students won’t have to miss out on this great resource!
