As students learn to speak, write, and read Spanish through explicit language lessons and through interactive activities incorporating Spanish vocabulary, students will practice the kills taught during independent reading time. To do so, Spanish books are needed. These resources are unfortunately not provided by school systems, so reaching out to our community and donors end up been the route to take for many teachers. Students will not only practice their reading skills at school, but they will check out these books to take home for additional practice. Many parents are fluent and/or native speakers, so taking these books home will allow parents to help their children improve their fluency, comprehension, and expression skills while reading.
