I plan to use the book titles that address the American Dream through struggle, whether it be the effects of pandemic such as in Pale Rider, perspectives of minority groups, as in American Dirt, or personal struggles as in the collection of titles that deal with mental health. The titles chosen are both relevant and important to address, especially in these uncharted times. The pens and markers are simple supplies, yet they are my personal preference for teaching--as I use color-coded notes both when I teach whole class as well as on each student's paper.
