The health and safety of students, their families, and our teaching staff is paramount as we navigate through this pandemic. Most of my students rely on the shared supplies of our classroom to participate in their art education. As our school commits to online learning for the first quarter of the school year this fall, my ability to effectively engage and inspire students to participate in online art education needs support. While some of my students will be able to purchase art supplies for the upcoming school year, most families do not budget for what is traditionally a school-provided resource. The student art packs I will be providing will include, 2 pencils, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, a 12-pack of colored pencils,10 markers, and a mini journal/sketchbook, sealed individually in a Ziploc bag. Students will be offered these art packs for safe, no-contact pick-up at our school building. Access to these supplies will allow all students to engage in a broad spectrum of art activities during our online learning and will support their health and safety when we transition back to in-person learning.
