I am working to make my classroom more secure for my students as we prepare to return to school. Previously all materials, resources, manipulatives, and much more were shared in amongst my students and staff. I would love to receive 10 carts for each of my students to individually use. I plan to use the tops of the carts to give each student space to organize individual materials such as their: toolbox, water bottle, tissue box, book box, and/or hand sanitizer. In addition to keeping materials separate and more secure, I also recently learned about the 5 Drawer educational technique. Using this strategy the I will load individual carts with educational resources for students to use daily. The carts will be changed daily with tasks for the students to complete. Using these carts will help keep the students organized, materials separate, and teach independence. A cart can be loaded as such: 1 life skill practice, 2 puzzle/manipulative, 3 reading resource, 4 math resource, 5 reward. At the end of the day, the materials will be sanitized and put away.
