This is my first year teaching Health to high school students. I was motivated to take up this challenge in addition to teaching math because I saw a great need for students to have information about their health and wellness. The students have questions and they really didn’t have anyone to ask. For the past two years, Health has been taught to students via an online program, with no teacher component. This is not ideal for students, and many did not pass the program. An online program is limited in the responsiveness to community and student needs. I am hoping to raise enough money to purchase Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to purchase a comprehensive health curriculum that will prepare students to make informed decisions about their health and wellness.
