I am so excited to build math tool kits for each of my eager first graders. I will be able to provide the manipulatives needed for students to learn about math through the world around them. Using these materials, students will be able to create and manipulate amounts from concrete models to numbers. For example, students will learn how to compose and decompose large and small numbers, Students will have the materials needed for instruction and for games at home as well as in the classroom. Students learn by building! Students will be able to compose and decompose numbers, create clocks, count money and make change. The math tools kits I will assemble will allow students to practice math whether they are at school or at home this year. Thank you for providing my first graders with the math tool kits they will need this year!
