Access to Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are absolutely necessary to ensure that my students' photos of their portfolio submissions look clear, legible, and professional. The competition in our city is very high to attend our High School of the Arts, and having these tools to sharpen my students' portfolios can literally propel them towards their future! The first step in advocating for your students is setting an example that as an educator, you absolutely deserve access to tools that let the artwork speak for itself. Although my school provided a Chromebook to teach online, in order to show my students how to use Adobe products to edit their work, I need a computer that will run Zoom and Adobe simultaneously. We are not at a place in society when these tools are provided to educators; any help would be much appreciated or else will have to come out of my own savings. The Chromebook my school provided doesn't have the capabilities needed to ensure my students' art school applications look pristine. I'm hoping to purchase a new computer to walk students through editing processes on Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom; this is college prep in itself. Please help my amazing students pursue their creative talents by submitting professional applications to art school. Thanks so much for your time and good luck this fall.
