My students are constantly looking for ways to engage with others. They come to school ready to learn about the people around them. I want to channel that focus and merge it with literature. For a lot of students, the school library is their only access to different types of literature. I feel that they all have a story to tell, but often their stories are muted by the lack of diversity in most books that they encounter. I want my students to remember that books are a way to realize that they are not alone, and with this project, my hope is for them to see this in my classroom library.
