One of the biggest challenges of returning to school in the midst of COVID-19 will be seating my students in the classroom. We will no longer be able to meet close together on the rug, or sit in groups facing each other. It is difficult to ask young students to sit still in a desk and chair all day long. Flexible seating options will allow my students to safely socially distance, while remaining comfortable. My first graders need a chance to move around and get their wiggles out. The stability balls, wobble stools, and inflatable cushions will allow them to do this while remaining engaged and on task. The fidget bands are also great for children who have trouble sitting still when they must be in a classroom chair.
