An anchor chart is a tool used to support instruction. As I teach a lesson, I create a chart together with my students to capture the most important content and relevant strategies and we continue to use them later as a reference. Anchor charts build a culture of literacy by making thinking visible for both the teacher and the students! Along with anchor charts, student whiteboards allow students to work collaboratively in small groups and present their thinking in a visual way as part of the learning process. I want to recreate these same learning experiences while in the classroom or distance learning. These materials will be used to display our thinking and record our ideas through synchronous learning activities and video lessons. There are so many opportunities for us to discover together in our writing in all areas of learning- math, science, social studies & reading! Our charts will display video lesson rules, display lesson material, and stick to the wall for an easy, functional lesson background. Writing and thinking together helps support a classroom built on community and also independence. Please support my classroom by donating so we can have chart paper, personal student whiteboards, and markers to start our year on the right track!
