While I may have been able to supply school supplies to my students before, Covid-19 has put me at a loss for what I am able to do. In order to keep everyone safe, my students cannot share the necessary supplies I have happily provided in the past, and I simply cannot afford to provide individual supplies to each of my students. Without those supplies, I fear my students will be limited in their engagement in my English class. Without individual supplies, I will have very little options other than to keep them at the Chromebooks to complete work each day, in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. English class is the home of creativity where a thoughtful poster mapping characterization or a silent discussion completed through colorful markers and sticky-notes is just as valid as a well done essay. Please help supply my students with sticky-notes, pens, and some art supplies, all safely contained in their own pencil case, to empower them to creativity engage with their work, something so necessary in these times of stress and uncertainty.
