The days of sitting in a desk, with the teacher at the front of the room, are in the past. Children need to collaborate, explore, and problem solve in a way that makes sense to them. Students don't need to be lectured, they need to be guided, given 'little crumbs' to find connections in the world around them through interaction. With this project, I will be able to purchase digital choice boards (digital student paced instruction), engaging math games, escape rooms, and many other 'out-of-the-box' instructional strategies. I'll be able to teach my students how to be critical thinkers and independent workers, while also encouraging them to collaborate and learn from each other. These type of materials take a lot of TIME to create and being able to purchase them, ready to go, will allow me to focus more on how I will differentiate and meet the needs of my students, instead of creating the projects myself.
