I am requesting materials to help my students see the world through many lenses. I want to provide students with the opportunity of travel, empathy, understanding, and validation right from their desks. I am requesting books, like Front Desk by Kelly Yang, and stools to create a warm and inviting space for students where everyone feels seen. I believe the books selected will reflect a diverse group that is eager to learn more about themselves and the world around them. This year will surely look different for many of us with social distancing and the possibility of distance learning in our district. My goal is to lessen the impact on students and provide them with a relaxing and inviting environment.
