Having an incubator in the science classroom is beneficial, especially when teaching about Cells and cell Theory. Students often struggle in believing that bacteria are living organisms since they cannot be seen with the naked eye. However, when we have a tool like an incubator, students can grow their own bacterial cultures. They will learn that bacteria are alive and it reproduces. Once students see the invisible world of microbes, they can learn that bacteria are living organisms. They can apply the information when they classify organisms into the correct kingdoms as well. Students can also conduct other experiments like how effective it is washing their hands with soap and antibacterial gels.
