My goal as an educator is to create a classroom library that reflects the different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences of my students. One of the most important things for young readers is for them to be able to see themselves in the books that they read. Books should serve as both windows and mirrors for students to explore different backgrounds, interests, and life experiences. These books will help students further their love for reading, while also emphasizing how each and every one of them are an important piece of our classroom community with so much to contribute.
