Due to many families and children learning at home, we need to support our learners through a variety of means. Giving parents the guidance while helping them to understand that learning occurs best through play and many of our best play objects are not actual toys. Cups are typically used for filling. Helping students to understand the variety of ways in which cups can be used as a helpful tool for drinking but also for: stacking, comparing numbers, building sensory development. Kids can use them for pretend play or stack the cups to build towers and knock them down, thus building understanding of stability, weight, and cause-effect relationships. Using the cups to outline and form shapes, numbers, letters. By doing so, increases the sensory development of what these things physically look like in space. Also using the cups for math support: counting, adding, subtracting, filling with amounts, weight comparison of holding specific volume. Cups are a simplistic yet effective way to entertain and teach through exploration.
