As a first year Special Education teacher, I am requesting support with purchasing classroom materials for students and myself to use at home while engaging in distance learning. The items I've requested are a combination of supplies I will use to teach students virtually, as well as items I plan to send to students in a care package. The students' care package will include individualized, encouraging notes printed on colorful cardstock for students to keep, as well as whiteboards, dry-erase markers, and pencils to facilitate their virtual learning experience. It is also extremely important to promote students' mental health by providing them with fidgets and journals to utilize on a daily basis. Living through a global pandemic is a challenge and I desire to help students gain tools and strategies to cope with stress and continue making the most of their education at home. Any support you can provide will be a huge help to make this vision true for my students, as I plan to purchase and send these items even if I am not able to meet my funding goal.
