Approximately 90% of our students are considered economically disadvantaged and have been participating in online learning but left without a dedicated study space to learn and ideally call "their own." When students attend school on a daily basis they are able to grow and expand in their learning journey through identifying with a school, classroom, and seat that specifically belongs to them for the entirety of the school year. Furthermore, research has shown that when providing students with their own learning space, they are given an opportunity to build a sense of connectivity. This allows the student to advance and develop their social-emotional skills by having a safe and comfortable place to learn. With that being said, we are raising money to create this necessary space in our student's homes, filled with all the supplies needed to succeed both academically and socially-emotionally. This will support parents, students, and teachers in the remote learning initiative.
