Currently, our creative space is four 8-foot banquet tables with an assortment of chairs and stools. Students sit next-to and across from each other. Some need to spread out and use more space than others. New individual tables and chairs would create a safer and more comfortable learning environment. The collective, shared space was not working well before the pandemic. Social distancing will be difficult. Individual desks will help students focus on creating and learning, not on someone encroaching their space. These desks would also have the ability to be socially distanced! Each and every student, regardless of their learning style, will benefit from having a space to call their own in my classroom.
