I teach at an elementary school were 60-70% of our students are students of color. I want to further expand my classroom library so that all students can see themselves and their families reflected in our classroom literature. In addition, I want to create a classroom space where we talk about race, activism, and acceptance. This is such an important conversation, and it starts with our little ones in school. Regardless if school is virtual or in-person, these books can be read through Google Meet or on a classroom rug to promote discussions about these topics. In addition, they can be used for many years after!
