Despite being a teacher for over 20 years, I am now - like many others - in uncharted territory. I have no idea what the this school year will bring when we resume in person classes on August 25th, but I know I need to be prepared to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all my students. Equipping my classroom with air purifying sanitization equipment along with touch-less sanitizer dispensers and extra seating and storage will allow my kids to come back to the classroom safely and with confidence that their health is a priority in my class. Unfortunately, our districts do not have plans to provide these types of things proven to help create a hygienic environment and the costs are too much for me to shoulder. While I will be loading up my personal shopping carts with basic supplies students will be lacking, I am asking for help supplying these new items that will help keep my kids safe.
