Since virtual learning is inevitable this school year, some of my students do not have access to equitable computers at home that are able to handle the software we use in class. I teach Web Design and Interactive Media to students who want to pursue college or a career in this field. We use many Adobe Creative Programs and the laptops they are issued from their schools, Chromebooks, do not support the software we use. They need regular laptops that have enough memory and can handle professional creative applications. I would like to get 5 classroom laptops that I could rent out to my students who may be in need of them. This past school was difficult to teach technical skills because of the pandemic. My students did not have equitable access to useable computers so everyone was lacking the technical skills that are needed go enter into this field. I am determined, as we enter this school year, to not let that happen again. We are planning for another distance learning situation and I want to give my students what they need to be successful. You could help prepare todays workforce for tomorrow!
