These books will give my students an opportunity to engage in book clubs, relevant conversations, and share experiences relevant to their lives. When we go back to our classrooms, I plan to use these books to discuss identity, focusing on our essential question of the year: How does the world around us influence our identity? This essential question is one that my students will focus on whether remote or in-person instruction occurs. I hope to use these books in a creative manner to engage, excite, and keep it REAL through relevant conversations with my kiddos.
