Because of COVID, we need to limit school supplies in the classroom because they will need to be cleaned every class period. Many students often are unable to afford pencils or forget to bring them to school, but it is difficult to have them practice the math at school without tools to write. Also, I will be using whiteboards and dry erase markers for students to practice their math problems while in the class setting. These tools are easily cleaned after each period for safety because of COVID. This is a difficult time, and teachers really need to put the safety of their students first. We are doing blended learning, so the curriculum will be online, and when the students come to class, they will do extra practice and get help from the teacher. We will also be doing Zoom conferences with students who are unable to come to school because of health conditions. I'm requesting a lot of pencils, so students may take them and not give them back to me because of COVID. I want to give the students every chance they may get to succeed in middle school math, especially because they have missed so much leaning last spring when school closed, and students needed to be taught from home.
