Last year I worked with the students on blending skin tone. We did so using only four different tones. They worked really hard asking each other, "Does this match me?" Only to have their half-finished works sit on the shelf due to the closing. I would like to give the students a variety of skin tones to choose from that provides them more time to create without frustration. The students at my school will likely never purchase oil pastels on their own. I would like to allow them to not only use them but to have them to keep. When students take ownership, they really put themselves in their work!
