This project is for flexible floor seating. These seats are fantastic because students are able to choose the seating arrangement in which they are most comfortable. Both students with IEPs and traditional learners can benefit from this type of seating. My goal is to have a classroom set of a variety of flexible seating options to help the various needs of my students. Students are noticeably more engaged in lessons when they are not trapped in a traditional chair/desk format. These floor seats will allow students to sit not just at tables of regular height but also those lower to the ground. This allows for students to get comfortable and engage in group activities anywhere in our classroom environment. These low to the ground seats are fantastic because students are able to lean back, rock, or fulfill another sensory need they might have. We already have some flexible seating to go along with our floor table and the students love them. These new seats will help us diversify student options. I would love to provide the opportunity for more students to use a seat that meets their needs. They are a great tool to use for classroom accessibility across all grade levels and subjects!
